Hot Diggity Dog! The Dog No Longer Digs!

We have a golden retriever named “Max”. Golden retrievers are the sweetest most loveable dogs there are. However, like all dogs, they can develop bad habits that need to be stopped. Our “Max” is a digger! He loves to go into the back yard and dig! He digs at the fence line. He digs at the shrubs! He digs at the house foundation!! As we are trying to improve the landscaping in the back yard, this is more than just an annoying issue.

To try and stop the problem, we went on the internet for suggestions on how to stop bad or unwanted behavior. As recommended by various sites, we even went to the extreme of placing his feces in the holes and covering them up. They aren’t supposed to like to dig there. Well, “Max” apparently didn’t read that manual! He still dug in the same holes only now his paws needed a hosing and he needed a bath!

As this continued to get more than annoying, we continued to look for a solution. We didn’t think anything was going to work. We finally found the SitStayFetch.net website, read all the reviews and decided to give the book a chance.

The book is incredibly insightful and has opened our minds as to how a dog thinks and why they behave the way that they do. Following the step by step training techniques, “Max” no longer digs! I no longer have to constantly check to see what he is doing, when we let him out!

We recommend SitStayFetch to everyone who owns a dog. We have learned so much about dog behavior and how to train without yelling or intimidating. Thanks Dan for writing such a useful learning tool!
